About Us
Vembu Natural Farmers Club (VNFC) was established in the year 2019 with a group of 20 farmers who committed to follow in the footsteps of Thiru. Nammazhvar and Thiru. Subash Palekar. The goal of our club is to increase farmer’s income by practicing natural farming methods. This club is a bridge between the farmers and the customers. Today, we have 100+ farmers doing natural farming all over Tamilnadu and are economically progressing.
It all started with growing vegetables in the backyard of our house in Texas USA and eating chemical-free food. We realized quickly how eating naturally grown produce energized our mind and body. We decided to propagate this idea among our farming community. In the year 2016, we quit our plush corporate job, the comforts of a Green Card, and settled in India to reach out to our farmers. We also visited many model farms and attended Thiru. Subash Palekar’s training. We tried and tested available methods, overcoming every possible hurdle and uncertainty. We interacted with farmers who followed sustainable farming practices to produce chemical-free food. This experience convinced us to follow natural farming methods and share the best practices with other farmers.
We slowly built this community of natural farmers and connected them to consumer families thereby helping to increase their income. Natural farming ensures that food that is produced is safe and free from the ill effects of fertilizers and pesticides. It is a transformative and sustainable farming practice that minimizes the cost of production and increases farmers’ income.
The holistic way to treat modern-day health issues is to focus on the food we eat. As responsible farmers of VNFC, we would like to produce naturally grown food that cares for the community, conserves the environment and is resilient to climate changes.
